I have had my S80 D5 (2005 full dealer service history 65k) Auto for nearly twelve months, warranty due to expire on the 11th Jan 2008. The car went into limp home mode today and when i took it to the dealer they could find no fault. Later on the same day it went into limp home mode again (message in display; engine system service urgent) when i turn the engine off and on again the message clears, the fault comes on again when i put my foot down on the gas. Any guidence would be appreciated. Brianc

Sounds like you can reproduce it. Back to the dealers - get a technician in the jump seat and prove it. Then get the codes read before turning off - however any previous codes should still be present, so I'm surprised they couldn't pull them off. ASAP too before the warranty runs out! Could be a multitude of things causing it, no point guessing at this juncture, get it back to the dealers. Vipes

I had the same problem when I put my foot down, the fault code turned out to be torque converter, I took it in and they reset it several times, now I just turn the ignition off/on, I am now saving for the full job possible 1500 quid, I hope yours is not the same. regards Pete

I'm amazed that the code has "dissapeared".......... Something like that code will always have been stored... sounds very peculiar as Viper7 says.. especially with a warranty nearly at its end... Is it a volvo dealer or independent dealer....? If you are near/in west yorkshire area (ish) then I have a special wunderbar box of computer tricks ;) PM me if I can be of any assistance ;)
