Hello, I am new to the forum and had a quick look first to see whether anyone has experienced the same problem. I cannot open the rear driver's side door from the inside regardless of the position of the child lock switch. I guess it's been like this since I bought it 2nd hand but haven't had a reason to try it before now. I read somewhere that a lever could have disengaged itself and fallen inside of the door panel, but do not know how difficult or damaging it might be to risk fixing it myself...

Hi I had the same problem with the rear door on my V70. The cable has become detached and you will see it hanging loose as soon as you remove the inner door panel. It will take two minutes to fix once the panel is removed, but be careful how you remove the plastic stoppers holding the panel on. If they are the same as a V70, they are removed by carefully pushing them in at the centre and they they should spring up. Don't try and prise them out at the edges. Regards

My S60 did this as well - very easy to fix once you get the door card off, Be very careful taking the door card out. As Peter said don't prise the clips, push them in the centre and they will spring out. You need to make sure the centre bit goes all the way in. I used a very small drill bit on the centre as a punch. Other thing to do is make sure you don't misplace any of the centre clips When you pull the door off, I did mine on a stone driveway and it took me about an hour to find one of them!
