Advice required on some irritating problems

The drivers door boot switch doesn't function on the V70 Jack

Interesting that - I've had 3 V70s (a 97 a 98 and a 2000) and on none of them has the remote boot switch done anything. When I queried it I was told that this was normal, that the boot release only works on the S70 - which it does - we have an 98 S70 so I know that for a fact! Jack

Thanks everyone for the advice. I have listened a bit harder to the suspension noises. The rattling seems to come from the front. I have found the droplinks and given them a good tug. There is a little bit of play there so I will get them sorted. The hissing comes from the back end only. This is the shocks, so I will get them checked out as well. I think the previous owner who had the car fromnew did a lot of towing, probably a caravan. The GB sticker on the boot gives it away! Hopefully it won't be too expensive if I avoid the main dealer. As for the boot lock, I have sprayed a load of Comma Spray Grease in there, which seems to keep it working for a little while before going wrong again. Finally the A/C. The lights have only flashed at me once but it still doesn't get cold. Maybe I will leave this problem until the summer.
