Hi guys 97 v70, do you charge the AC through the low side only? I couldn't see a high side connection....thanks!

Yeah, im prepared to shell out for the all too common condensor if it comes to it. Ill gas it up soon and stick some dye in as its quite low. In the service history of my car it had an evaporator back in 2002/3 so hopefully all will be ok! Btw, if the AC is low on gas will it flash the error lights on the control panel?

if there is an issue with the ac the lights by the ac and recirc lights flash when you turn on the iggy it will do it if your gas is below the min pressure yes
A Low level of gas will cause the compressor to cycle on quickly, though it will still work. When recharging a working system you should connect up to the volvo scan tool, as the right level of charge is read off the tool according to the HP sensor which the ECU sees. (as you cant manually read the HP side as there is no HP valve!) Tim..
Yeah, i can see the sense in that. About a year ago, the volvo dealer over the road broke their AC machine so brought a car (850 i think) over to be regassed. They just asked for it regassing after a condensor was fitted so thats what i did. All was OK and it didnt come back! Only if there are problems will i need to see what the high is doing so fingers crossed a regas will be all it needs.
